In case you want the full throne speech, it can be found HERE.
I may have mentioned this before, but in the fall, just after Premier Shawn Graham was elected, we ran into him at the Fredericton Farmers Market. We talked to him for a couple of minutes and explained to him that we were adopting internationally, and with the push for immigration, the province should make our process easier, not harder. So not all of our comments to politicians don’t fall on deaf ears. Sometimes what we do say does get acted upon and things like this should make our province a better place to live. I’m sure that we were not the only people to vent frustrations to the politicians but I’d like to think that our comments made a difference.
Also as an FYI, in that same discussion, The Premier told us that he and his wife had investigated domestic adoption and had thought about doing the PRIDE training. So, he should understand what we have to go thru with paperwork, social workers, etc…
As a last note. I am political party independant. I listen to them all but don't have any loyalty to any particular party. I just like it when whatever party is in power does something to make our lives easier.
