Seems North America isn't the only country with liquid restrictions on their flights.

Blacklisted Liquids Embarrass Air Passengers

For those of you about to fly in/out of China by plane, be careful with the liquids you carry, since they are now on an airport security "blacklist".
The newly started liquid-limit regulation (May 1st) for air passengers has caused a number of embarrassing "incidents" at airports around China.
On Thursday, at Guangzhou airport, 5 senior ladies and gentlemen who were awaiting their flight to Singapore, decided to drink their "overweight" honey after learning about the ban.
They had packed several bottles of honey and water in their carry-on luggage, which is not allowed. Realizing there was no time to transfer the items to their checked luggage, they decided to drink them all, rather than waste them. After 10 minutes of frantic honey sculling, the group hastened to make their flight.
At the same airport, a lady brought with her a bottle of facial cream. Unfortunately the quantity was 120 millilitres, and thus above the approved limit. Since there was again no time to add the item to checked luggage, she chose to apply the cream all over her body!
An officer with airport security says such "incidents" are routine since the regulation come into effect. He suggests passengers put all liquids in their checked-in luggage. Liquids and gels in containers larger than 100 milliliters are forbidden from carry-on luggage.
