English or French, it's still a racist comment

Quebec Premier hopeful Andre Boisclair has made a big no-no and will not apologize for it. In a speech on Thursday to a crowd of students, Mr Boisclair said "When I was in Boston, where I spent a year, I was surprised to see that on campus; about one-third of the students doing their bachelor degrees had les yeux bridés (slanting eyes)." His reason for not apologizing is that it is a common saying within the French language.
