Am I losing my mind? I know I did a post Friday, but it doesn't seem to be here. Maybe there's a gremlin in my system eating up my posts.
Friday's CB update didn't have anything new to report. Patience seems to be the name of the game now.
How does life change?Jen and I went to the large Christmas craft sale at the Moncton Coliseum Friday night and ran into an old friend who we haven't seen in a while. Their little girl is now 19 months old and she was saying how much life changes when a kid arrives. She said you cant even imagine how much life changes, how nothing gets done and how things like going to the craft sale by herself was a big treat. Jennifer and I talked about this yesterday and maybe this is another example of how naive we are, but we cant see how our weekends activities will change when a kid arrives.
Friday night - craft sale. We bring a stroller or backpack, load the kid in and go as we normally would. Yes, there's more prep and maybe a poopy diaper to change in the public washrooms, some screaming and all that, but why can't we continue to go? There were lots of other kids there. If anything, it will take twice as long. We always seem to run into people we know and once a wee one comes along I'm sure the causal banter between friend that we haven't seen in a while will take that much longer.
Saturday we went to the Christmas Parade then grocery shopping. Now if you can't take your kid to the parade, what family-friendly activity is there? OK, extra clothes, snotty noses, and maybe some crying from sensory overload from the loud noises and bright lights, but that's to be expected.
Grocery shopping. Hey, the carts are designed for kids. How much more inviting can it be? Some places even have the big race car-kid-friendly carts now. Candy free checkouts even take kids into consideration. Yes, more work again as you have to load the kid in the car then load the groceries (or do you load groceries, return the cart to the cart corral then load the kid in the seat???)
OK, everybody, tell us what you think? How much did life change for you when kids came along for you?
I lost my Friday post

I agree. It is all about your attitude and how you deal with things.
I am looking forward to doing the stuff we like to do now with our little one.
Keep smilin!
Just for fun Scott you should take one of those race car carts for a spin. What a great invention. :) I suggest about 10:00 am Sat at Home Depot. When you need a new snow shovel. :)
