We've received our first gift exchange gift

Monday, July 24, 2006 | |

To pass time, I joined a Yahoo Group called DTCNOVDEC2005. This is a group of people who all have a dossier to China (DTC) in November or December 2005. Emails get exchanged between one another and it just helps pass time when you're communicating with a common group of people.

Part of this group is that they do gift exchanges. Similar to the "Secret Santa" gift exchange that we're all familiar with, someone takes the names of any family interested in participating in this, and then we're all given a family to send gifts to. This is a monthly event and each month has a different theme. We know who we're sending to, but they don't know who we are. We were given a family in the Midwest of the US and we've determined that our family is from California.

July's gift was a dress. Jen found a nice Winnie the Pooh outfit and we sent it off. They received it a few days later as they posted a message on the group that they had indeed received it.

Our gift from our secret family didn't come, and didn't come. We checked every day and nothing in the mailbox. Well, while we were away fro a couple days, it showed up! The family had been in Hawaii and bought us a nice purple dress with hair clips and a Hawaiian Lei. Very nice. They put their return address on their package, so we know who they are.

So, now we wait until they tell us what the next months theme is and we're off to do some shipping again.

As for an update on how we're progressing, not much is new. The next batch of referrals is expected to cover up to mid July 2005, so they're just over a year from Log In Date to referral.

Nothing else is new for now...
Stay posted!
Scott
