We are 1 step closer to China. We met with our Adoption Coordinator, Genevieve, at the province and reviewed all the paperwork with her. All is good. So we are OFFICIALLY approved for the province of NB. No big certificate or even papers to sign. We're just approved.
OK, now for the next steps.
Now, we need to get 2 money orders for Children's Bridge (the adoption agency we're using). We also have to get a prepaid mailer to Children's Bridge for the paperwork to travel in.We meet with a lawyer tomorrow and he needs to notarize all the papers. We then go from the lawyers office back to the province and drop off all the paperwork to Genevieve.By Friday, Genevieve will photocopy all the notarized paperwork in triplicate or quadruplicate (I'm not sure how many, just alot) and stuff it in an envelope and courier it to Bill Innes in Fredericton. Bill is in charge of all paperwork entering and leaving the province for international adoption. Bill should have it Monday. Genevieve says that Bill should have it about 2 days. He's checking to make sure everything is as it should be and also verifies that the lawyer we used is an actual registered province of NB lawyer. He then sends it to Children's Bridge in the prepaid envelope we've supplied. So, if the timeline's are accurate, it should be in the hands of Children's Bridge by Thursday 10-20-5. There's another whole process involved once Children's Bridge gets it. I'll explain that once we get to that point.
