Well, a big milestone has been reached today. I keep saying we've hit a milestone, we've gone to another level, etc.. but this is a real milestone. All the paperwork, all our effort, everything we've done so far is now in the hands of the Department of Social Service, province of New Brunswick. We are now at the mercy of several provincial employees to get the paperwork where it needs to go ASAP. If there was ever a time for an efficient beurocratic process, this would be the time.
Jennifer picked up the notarized paperwork today from the lawyers, put it all back in it's proper order, double and triple checked everything then dropped it off with Genevieve at the province. They reviewed it again, Jennifer gave her the necessary checks that get forwarded to Children's Bridge for the retainer and translation and off she went.
Have I ever mentioned that Jennifer and I like to be in control? You know... if you want it done right, do it yourself kinda control. So, I (and I'm sure Jen as well) have a unpleasant feeling in my gut that someone is going to screw something up! You know, lose a page, staple something the wrong way, lose it in the pile of papers in the corner for months... ARRRGGGHHH! I guess I just need to relax and remember that these people are profesionals and do this every day.
So, I've said it before, and I'll probaly say it again (and again, and again).... now we wait.
Next relief point is when Children's Bridge receives the paperwork from the province... hopefully late next week.
Stay tuned! Who thought waiting could be this exciting?

It is now totally beyond our control
